Navigating between Windows
As you probably know, open program windows are shown in the Taskbar, usually at the bottom of your screen. In Vista and 7, finding the window that you want has been enhanced.
Live Thumbnails
Vista and 7 contain a feature called Live Thumbnails. Though it sounds like it’s in need of a manicure, what this really does is provide a live image of an open program that shows up in the Taskbar.

To view these images, you simply put your mouse over the taskbar item that you want to see.

Windows Flip (Alt-Tab)
Windows Flip improves on the Alt+Tab keystroke that quickly allows you to move from one open window to another.

Now when you press Alt+Tab, live thumbnails of the open windows appear, making it a little easier to choose which window you want to access. You simply hold Alt while repeatedly pressing Tab until your chosen window is highlighted. When you release the keys, that window will open.
Windows Flip 3D

Let’s take this process one step further. For sheer coolness, we have Windows Flip 3D, which works just like Windows Flip, but with a different key combination. When you press the Windows+Tab keys, you get a floating 3-D representation of your open windows, stacked on one another. To select the window you want to view, hold the Windows key while repeatedly pressing Tab until your chosen window is highlighted. When you release the keys, that window will open.
In Windows 7, some new navigation features have been added, in addition to the methods described above.
Aero Shake
Aero Shake is used if you want to minimize all windows except the one you want open. To do this, mouse over the Title Bar of the window you want to keep open, click and hold, and shake it. That window will stay open, and all the others will minimize to the Taskbar.
