Spyware: Using the Malicious Software Removal Tool
To use the Malicious Software Removal Tool:
1. Go to Start>Run.
2. In the Open: box, type mrt
3. When the dialog box appears, click Next. In the next window, select the scan you wish to perform. Under normal circumstances, you can just do the Quick Scan. If you see evidence of a spyware problem, you should do the Full scan. Be aware that the Full scan will take longer.
4. The scan will begin.
When the scan is complete, you will see the results. If your computer is clean, you will see the following:
If errors are found, follow the directions to delete the malware.
If problems are found, I would suggest using MalwareBytes to follow-up and make sure the problem is fixed.
